Dr. Dan Kneer

Our leader, Dr. Dan is a rarity as he possesses rich knowledge of audit practice and audit education. He is "trained in training" … specifically he’s trained in training auditors. What makes Dan so well-equipped to work with auditors are his TWO PARALLEL CAREERS, with decades of on-board experiences in audit practice, teaching, theory and research.

Audit Practice Career (30+ years):  Worked in Public Accounting, Governmental (US agency: Fraud, Operational, IT, Performance, Efficiency, Program and Compliance Audit ... and State Auditors Office), and Private Sector (Internal Audit Departments).

Academic Career (18 years): Spent his entire career at one university, as tenured full-time faculty.  Dan’s research has a PRACTICAL purpose.  It’s not to sit in a scholarly journal … and never be read. The Dean of the Vanderbilt Law School says Dan’s audit research, “is some of the most significant research in the US: it’s the type of practical research that we need more of.”  In 1990, the American Bar Association listed one of Dan’s auditor liability studies as “one of the 10 landmark legal research efforts of the year.” An enthusiastic teacher and speaker, Dan has won teaching awards for three straight decades.
