Applied Business Statistics: Advanced

This course builds upon the Basic Applied Business Statistics course … and raises the bar much higher. Advanced topics, ALL APPLICABLE TO BUSINESS SITUATIONS will be presented and explained.

Discriminant analysis is an incredible tool to:

1. Find fraud indicators,
2. Determine go/no go decisions on mergers/acquisitions and
3. Identify possible bankruptcy.

Simultaneous equations, which we used to assist a major federal agency, can indeed locate the break-even point for two or more competing business solutions (to the same problem).

Stepwise regression, another amazing tool, will be showcased as a business research tool when you “don’t really know what you are looking for.” That is, you don’t “see” the correlations. We’ll identify business drivers, and the dependent measures. A key component of this class is to “let the data talk to you.”

Several business cases will be presented, showing WINS.
