Audit Fundamentals
(for Really Smart Folks Who Happen to not Know a Lot
About Accounting)
Here’s the deal: you just hired some
super-smart staff. Man oh man are they sharp. But they don’t “know” auditing. Well, yes, you could send them off to a college class …
taking 16 weeks. Yes, they are so smart that they could teach themselves with a
library book. And you want these folks to become young super stars. So you are
going to throw them into the fire … immediately … without much supervision?
Well then … wouldn’t be judicious to have
them learn auditing from a seasoned veteran? Maybe
you could leverage off of OVER 30 years of auditing experience to sort of accelerate their learning curve.
There is “Auditing” from a book … and there is REALITY. (Hint: they may
not be the same thing!) What the heck IS materiality? What's a scope escalation
problem? How do I know when I may be being bamboozled? What the heck are
workpapers, and the rank order of audit evidence? How many assertions are there
... and what ARE assertions?
This class “takes the gloves off” and
teaches true auditing in a very short time. We want
attendees to hit the ground running, ramped for action.
THIS CLASS
HAS A STRONG HANDS-ON COMPONENT, WITH SEVERAL COMPUTERIZED CASES. WE CAN TEACH
BOTH OFFICE 97-2003 AND 2007. |
